Ladder Match Rules and Information
Organising your matches
Matches can be organised easily through the SPORTCH App.
The Court Booking and dealing with time
Court booking should be discussed and agreed by both players.
A 2 hour court booking is recommended and at 1 set all players should consider the time and either:
1) Play a normal set if there is plenty of time (45 minutes or more)
2) Play a short set to 4 games (30 minutes or more)
3) Play a tie-break to 10 points to decide the match ( less then 30 mins left)
These times are a rough guide at please keep an eye on the time and matches should always be able to finish. If a match is not finished it may be finished another time as long as it is within the window for that round.
The players should equally split any court fees.
If players can only get 1 hour of court time, then it is possible to play a best of 3 tie-break sets match, with sets to 4 games, tie-break in sets at 3-3. At one set all if you are running out of time, you can play a tie-break to decide the match.
Player Safety
For LT safety is of great importance and we suggest that players check that the courts they have booked are safe to play.
If you feel that a court is unsafe please report to the company who manage them and if not known then report to us.
In the unlikely event that you have any safety concerns relating to your opponent, then you must report this to us.

The Weather
If the weather is poor both players must agree if the match is to go ahead if they are outside. Players must try and get matches played and not be put off by showers. If a player refuses to play in bad weather then the match must be rescheduled. If a match is part way through it can be finished at another time from where the score was left, not restarted.
Who brings the Balls?
Both players should bring a new set of 4 balls unopened of a good standard and must be pressurised, please do not buy cheap substandard balls. Players choose which set to play with and the winner will then keep the unopened can.
Recommended pressurised balls: Wilson US Open, Head Tour, Dunlop Fort, Slazenger Open, Slazenger Wimbledon, RS.
Many of these brands will produce cheaper ranges that are substandard and no fun to play with, please avoid.
Match Format
We suggest ideally the best of 3 tie-break sets, see information under court bookings (above), particularly where you may only be able to get a court for 1 hour and not 2 hours, for shorter match formats.
Sportsmanship
All Ladder matches should be played in a good spirit with good sportsmanship at all times.
Please report any bad sportsmanship to us if you feel it is necessary, you can also give reviews on the App..
Offenders of the rules will not be tolerated and if any player persist in rule breaking after a warning from us then then will most likely be excluded permanently from playing in our knockouts.
Keeping score
Both players should always keep the score. The server should call the score before each point.
If there are any disputes over the score, then the players must play from when they both last recall the score.
Players must only call balls on their side of the net.
Calls can only be out, if a player is not sure then the ball counts as in.
Walkovers
Walkovers can be claimed by a player for the following reasons:
1) If their opponent retires during a match for any reason.
2) If their opponent does not turn up for a match for any reason.
3) If their opponent turns up more than 30 minutes late for their match.
4) If their opponent cancels the match with less than 24 hours notice.
Entering Results
Players will be able to enter their own results and this will be the winning players responsibility, results should be entered promptly.
